Air Liquide
Welding helps optimize manual welding at Chantiers
de l' Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire
Air Liquide Welding and Chantiers de l' Atlantique (Alstom-Marine
group) have signed a three-year contract for
ongoing maintenance of the 1,150 manual welding
installations at the Saint-Nazaire naval shipyard.
Service will be provided through
AIS, Air Liquide Welding's local on-site service provider,
to optimize the efficiency of the Chantiers de l'Atlantique
welding fleet. To meet this task, AIS will boost its
project staff to 16.
AIS is already responsible for
all Chantiers' fume extraction and treatment operations,
ensuring the company's welders the best possible safety
and hygiene conditions.
For several years now, Air Liquide
Welding has also taken charge of all logistics for welding
products at the Saint-Nazaire site (coated electrodes,
cored wires, wire/flux combinations, etc.), freeing up
Chantiers de l' Atlantique to focus on its core professional
expertise.
As Eugène Pont, Vice-President
of Air Liquide Welding explained, "We are very pleased
to have won this contract. The professionalism and quality
of service that AIS has provided for five years was a
deciding factor for Chantiers de l' Atlantique. Air Liquide
Welding, a European leader in welding and cutting technologies,
continues to offer global solutions, in such areas as
fume reduction and operator environments, which reflect
the Group' s commitment to sustainable development".
