Information Paris, July 07, 2004 Press Release New successes in hospital sterilization in Italy and Spain
In Italy, Omasa signed a seven-year contract with the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic to supply a new sterilization plant for the renowned hospital's multipurpose platform. The Gemelli Hospital, with 1,500 beds and 29 operating theaters, performs 22,000 surgeries and records 58,000 hospitalizations a year. The new plant will have a staff of 22 employees and operate around the clock 365 days a year. It will house 96,000 steam sterilization units and 400 ethylene oxide sterilization units. In Spain, the new Murcia Hospital General Universitario signed a 2-year renewable contract making Omasa responsible for sterilization of all the hospital's instruments. Currently under construction, the institution will house 289 beds and numerous operating theaters. Twelve full-time employees will work in the sterilization unit. Omasa already has sterilization contracts with the Red Cross Hospital in Madrid and the Hospital del Oriente de Asturias.
